Land, rest from the journey in Antigua and dawn in a new world. Lose yourself in the streets of the city that was the capital of the General Captaincy of Guatemala.
During the following days you can discover the indigenous altiplano: a long mountain range, from the shores of Lake Atitlan to the volcanoes of Quetzaltenango, passing through the markets of Chichicastenango, San Francisco El Alto, Zunil, Almolonga and Totonicapán.
Fly to Tikal, and discover the great Mayan metropoly immersed in the Petén rainforest. If the Indiana Jones-style adventure attracts you, visit the sites of Ceibal and Aguateca; Quiriguá, where the highest stelae are found; Copán in Honduras and masterpieces of pre-Columbian sculpture. And on the way back, take a break on the Caribbean coast in Livingston or in the Bay of Amatique.
We suggest from a week to ten days at least, two weeks being necessary for a deeper discovery. For example: if you have more time: the Pacific coast, Iximché, Nebaj, Cobán, Río Dulce, Yaxhá, extensions to Belize, Mexico, Honduras, …
